Made in the Atelier. Shaped by hands.
Created to transcend the ordinary.

Inside our Atelier

At Astheria, craftsmanship is at the heart of every creation.

Founded by Chelsea Odufu, Astheria is a contemporary luxury millinery house where each hat is individually crafted in the atelier. Inspired by the enduring tradition of headwear and adornment, the house brings traditional millinery techniques into a modern, refined world of design.

Every piece begins with carefully selected materials chosen for their texture, structure, and character. Through blocking, steaming, stitching, shaping, and finishing, each hat is gradually formed by hand. Every curve, proportion, seam, and detail is considered with precision, resulting in pieces that are beautifully constructed, enduring, and designed to be treasured.

Astheria embraces a more considered approach to luxury. Collections are produced in limited quantities, with select designs offered in a made-to-order model. This allows each piece to receive the time and attention it deserves while creating a sense of rarity and distinction for the woman who wears it.

For Chelsea, craftsmanship is not separate from the design—it is what brings the design to life. The atelier is a place where patience, precision, and material knowledge transform an idea into something tangible.

About the Founder

Chelsea Odufu is a multidisciplinary artist and creative director working across fine art photography, sculpture, filmmaking, and commercial direction. Her work has been presented internationally across museums, galleries, and cultural platforms, including LACMA, Seattle Art Museum, Paris Photo, the Dakar Biennale, and Christie’s London.

At the center of Chelsea’s practice is a fascination with form, perception, and the worlds that exist beyond the immediately visible. She is drawn to the space where the tangible meets the imagined—where an object can carry emotion, suggest another world, or transform the way we see ourselves.

Astheria is an extension of that practice.

Chelsea approaches millinery with the same curiosity she brings to her artistic work: exploring proportion, structure, texture, movement, and silhouette to create objects that exist somewhere between fashion and sculpture. Each hat is conceived as both a piece of craftsmanship and an expression of a larger visual language.

Chelsea is also the creative force behind Astheria’s visual identity. She serves as the designer, photographer, creative director, and filmmaker behind the house, shaping not only the hats but the imagery, films, and world that surround them.

Through Astheria, her love of art, craftsmanship, and the infinite becomes something tangible—a luxury house built around the idea that what we wear can transport us somewhere beyond the ordinary.

Limited in quantity and carefully crafted in the atelier, each piece is created to be collected, worn, and remembered.
